Island of Bornholm, Denmark

Here is the story about 14 days at the Island of Bornholm, Denmark. Bornholm is lying in the Baltic See between Denmark and Sweden.

We went off from the town Farum, 20 km north off Copenhagen 29.08.2006. We were travelling in a Suzuki Liana 1,6 with an Adria Unica PX 432 Exclusive 2001 on the hook. And who are we: We are 2 adult people in our best age 54 years old Mr. Henning Hansen and Mrs. Lone Hansen and our dog Donna, a golden retriever.

We started out in bad weather. There was a thunderstorm as we reach the town Ystad in Sweden to get the Catamaran ferry to Roenne. But bad weather is no excuse when you are travelling with an Adria.

In the following 13 days we were walking around the Island of Bornholm and we reach 136 km. totally.

The Isle of Bornholm is known for there famous Smoked Herring with raw eggs and chives. It has a very delicious taste.

There are plenty of cliffs and there is walking path all over the island. Most of the path is following the shoreline with beautiful views over the Baltic See.

As you can read, we have lots of things to do and look at. So the 14 days went quickly and suddenly we were bound for Farum again. The island is also known of four Circular Churches. The churches are being building around year 11- 1200.

There are also many small craft factories and shops were you can buy glass and stone art.

We stayed at Sannes Familiecamping Gudhjem: www.familiecamping.dk
