The first generation of caravans (1968-1979)

The first generation of caravans (1968-1979) had oval exterior bodywork, covered with white tin at the beginning. Soon we added a decorative blue stripe on both sides (window-wide), which became a recognisable symbol of the ADRIA trademark. The window glass was not colored.
The firstgeneration consisted of 3 models and 8 types in a single series:
- 3000 mm-model ADRIA 305
- 800 mm-model ADRIA 380
- 4500 mm-model ADRIA 450
When we began production caravans of this generation didn’t have a gas bottle compartment. The gas bottle was placed in a separate ring at the drawbar. That was also a feature of these first generation caravans.
Later these were expanded to 10 models, 14 types and 3 series. In an additional development we added some new inside layouts named with T, F and new sizes 330, 390, 410, 420, 465, 500, 530, 550, 640 and 700. In total the firstgenerationofcaravansincluded13models and around 30 types. With this caravan range ADRIA won the West European markets.
In 1972 we opened a factory in Deinze, Bel¬gium, in which we decided to manufacture caravans different from those made in Slovenia. The new series was named JUNIOR. Its characteristic was a very high level of standardisation. This series comprised 4 models (Junior 320, 380, 450 and 500). They all had the same exterior design. Somewhat different from ADRIA’s - the exterior was completely white and all of the models had completely standard pieces of furniture in three colors: blue, yellow and red.
The first three models were developed in 1972, their prototypes were finished in only three weeks. The Junior range was produced in Deinze for two years.
In 1975 we developed a series of caravans SKANDINAV exclusively for the Scandinavian market. Their main characteristics were a somewhat more aerodynamic exterior design, a blue decorative stripe bellow the blue-glass windows, wide decorative profiles, an integrated frame for gas bottles and an outer door for refrigerator repairs. The series comprised 4 models. Later it was also sold in Germany under the name Kornati.
