The third generation of the Adria caravans (1982-1994)
The third generation of Adria caravans has a typical aerodynamic shape of the front of the caravan, which was very important during the first crisis in gas supply for the engines with internal combustion that are the tractive force of caravans.
The commercial names of the series were:
- In France: Cobra, Tygra, Mystra, Syrana
- In Germany: Kornati de luxe, Opatija
- In England: Toura, Optima, Supra, Maxima
- In Italy: Start, Confort, Mistral
- In Belgium: Touring, Confort, Mistral, Habitation
- In Denmark: Sport, Rally, Rally de luxe
- In Sweden: Skandinav.
The white color of the car body was changed into the light opal color while adding the multicolor linear graphic design to the exterior. This made Adria one of the first European manufacturers that ended the period of rather monotonous car bodies. The window glass remained blue and at the front trapezium-shaped windows were added which were adjusted to the aerodynamic incline of the front wall. The gas bottle compartment was made of vacuum plastic and was semi-integrated into the car body.
It was in this generation that Adria made important technological progress by introducing the parts of the car body manufactured in the so-called "sandwich" technology.
The shape of the third generation caravans was at first only used in the prestige MISTRAL series (MYSTRA in France), however during the following years it was introduced into other series which had the almost same number of different caravan models and types as the second generation series.
