Gregor Adler: In the driving seat.

On 1st March 2024, Gregor Adler was appointed to manage Adria Mobil, the company behind the Adria brand, which celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2025.

Inspirations Magazine asked Gregor for his personal experiences and insights into the organisation and the brand, so far.

Profile.

Gregor is a university graduate in economics, with extensive experience in senior management positions. He joined Adria Mobil from the SIJ Group (Slovenska industrija jekla) one of the leading producers of stainless and special steels in Europe. Gregor is married, a family man, and lives in Ljubljana.

Gregor taking over the helm of Adria Mobil must have been an exciting personal challenge, what was the attraction to you for accepting this role?

GREGOR

It is hugely exciting and challenging! And what an opportunity to manage an organisation of this stature and scale, and of course to develop the next chapters in the Adria brand story.

EDITOR

As you reflect on your time so far in the role, what gives you satisfaction and where are the challenges or opportunities?

GREGOR

The time has flown by! Adria Mobil is part of the Trigano Group; we have three modern factories in Slovenia, and employ nearly 2,000 people. We design, manufacture and sell Adria motorhomes, campervans, caravans and mobile homes to international markets; and make and sell Sun Living and Elios recreational vehicles.

I have got to know the organisation and our brands, working with my colleagues, spending as much time as possible inside our operations and visiting as many markets as I can. It is important to experience at first-hand how we do things, what we do well and what we can improve.

What do you see as the most important factors which determine the success of the Adria brand?

GREGOR

Adria brand reaching 60 years anniversary this year, it is a remarkable story and important milestone. Having a strong brand which is recognized and liked internationally, is a key factor in our success.

We have consistently invested in production technologies, in our knowledge and skill, and every year in product development, consistently bringing new vehicles, layouts and solutions to the consumer.

We work on them consistently as the market is very dynamic and challenging, with much competition.

People underpin our success and Adria Mobil is blessed with a talented workforce, and an experienced, stable management over past decades. I find my colleagues and the people in our distribution partners show great willingness to contribute to our collective development and success.

Our vision for the Adria brand is ‘to be the most desirable brand in the recreational vehicle industry’ and our mission ‘to deliver premium quality, design and value for memorable experiences’. These are great challenges but after 60 years and with the quality of our organisation and people, our strong brand foundations and approach, I see us as being well set us up for the future.

How do you see the European market for recreational vehicles right now and in the future?

GREGOR

Significant growth during the pandemic, the caravanning industry is returning to more normal conditions.

Consumer habits, purchasing decisions and expectations are constantly changing so we are in tune with this with what we produce and on quality. We see great interest in travelling with leisure vehicles, which for many people are the most authentic, relaxed way of spending leisure time and holidays.

Supply chains have stabilised and we pay attention to the demand trends, to consumer wishes and the changes in regulations. We plan and use our deep knowledge and skills for sustainable growth, by creating outstanding design vehicles, with great functionality and comfort, at consistent quality and with appropriate price positioning.

2025 sees Adria celebrating its 60th anniversary year how do you experience this milestone?

GREGOR

We held a celebration event at our state-of-the-art Novo mesto factory in Slovenia in May and launched our Adria 60 Year Selection special editions and many new models as part of the celebration. In Autumn 2025, at the national fairs we show these new models for the first time to the public. So, the next chapter of the Adria story is already here…

Finally, Gregor, on a more personal note, how do you spend your leisure time and holidays?

GREGOR

I am very busy with this role but first and foremost I am a father and husband! We take family holidays when we can and with many trips in Adria vehicles for pleasure and to understand the lifestyle our products enable.

Adria Mobil Group is a manufacturer of recreational vehicles and includes subsidiary companies which make mobile homes, furniture, and the distribution of Adria and Sun Living brand products, holidays and services.

In 2023-24 financial year, the Adria Mobil group achieved revenues of 767,000,000 euros, a record in the history of the Adria brand.

Recent investment in the robotized body cutting process, a unique solution in the caravanning industry amounted to 1,000,000 euros.

In its 60-year history, a total of more than 725,000 vehicles have been manufactured under the Adria brand name.

The highest production volume in the history of the Adria brand was in 1980, when 26,757 caravans were manufactured.
